Coming off of a loss to Bradley Central the Blue Raiders got
back in action and back to work at this weekends tournament.
Although they finished 2nd Coach Eslinger said there were plenty
of bright spots. “Individual tournaments are tough for
us. We have only 2 wrestlers with any kind of credentials so
we don’t
get seeded very often.
The first rounds sometimes take their toll on
us,” Eslinger stated. “We bounced back from some
early losses and ended up with 12 placers which was a bright
spot. We were in a lot of good matches and had some good training
for the post-season. Our whole mindset if focused on the post-season
so we evaluate and see what we need to do to get better.”
Harold Gage and Max Ofori both finished in 1st place for the
raiders. Josh Jadoboorsingh was the only runner-up. Finishing
in 3rd place were Bryan Alvarado (103), Ben Spires (125), Jacob
Sewell (130), Clay Bunch (135), Travis Leaonard (152), and Chip
Norwood (189). Finishing in 4th place were Bailey Jones (140),
Matt Sharp (171), and Adam Peters (285).
The Blue Raider are back in action Tuesday night against Notre
Dame at 7 p.m..
